For Piano Solo with Spoken Word

This piece is dedicated to my paternal Grandmother, Vivian Boostrom. The music accompanies the poem The House by the Side of the Road by Sam Walter Foss. The music and text were performed at Vivian's memorial service. The music tries to capture the sentimental appreciation of her life of service to others. She always strived to be a friend to humanity, warmly opening herself up to everyone.
