For Brass Quintet
Duration: 6.5 minutes
When I was a freshman at Lawrence University in 2005, I was taking private lessons with the late Professor Jennifer Fitzgerald. As one of the assignmets for her, I wrote a trumpet solo. The first movement of the quintet is a realization of the trumpet solo for brass quintet. After finishing this realization, I decided to expand on the movement and make it a three movement reflection of people and elements of their lives. The prelude expresses the complexity of the personality, and leads into elements that define people, each specifically named (Playtime, Prayer).
